‘It’s the Family You Choose’, a Girls In Film event for #VansCheckerboardDay

The Girls In Film event at House of Vans this week will be a celebration of (given or chosen) family, love and support.
On Thursday November 18, they’ll be bringing their community together for a screening of short films about the family we choose. Also on the night will be an open-mic pitch for filmmakers to find collaborators and crew for their upcoming projects, plus a fun and interactive quiz on female and trans-directed films.
#VansCheckerboardDay is a day to uplift creativity for positive social impact, via breaking barriers to creativity for the good of the individual, communities and the world. This year, Girls In Film are one of the Vans Europe chosen organisations to receive a grant from The Vans Checkerboard Fund at Tides Foundation. Their sibling branches in Prague and Amsterdam are bringing the local communities together for screenings, talks and networking parties — check their pages for further details of what’s going on in each city.
